We departed Santiago, Chile for Guatemala on COPA Airlines and had a 2 night stop in Panama City, Panama where we spent 2 nights using Starwood points at the Westin Playa Bonita in Panama City, Panama. We redeemed 20,000 Singapore KrisFlyer miles per person plus $46.15 each in taxes for our one-way business class flights from Santiago, Chile to Panama City. We lucked out and with Cody's Starwood Platinum Elite status, we got a great upgrade which included some all-inclusive buffets for lunch and free non-alcoholic margaritas for the duration of the stay, which was amazing. Part of this included a full themed Halloween buffet in the restaurant. We had a good time just relaxing by the pool and hanging out at the hotel while we were there.
We took a trip into the city and rented a bicycle built for 6 people and took it for a spin in one of the areas near the ocean. It was great night out and we were able to get a little exercise and take in some fresh air. The time in Panama City went very fast and we were quickly on our way to Guatemala City to meet grandma Toni and grandpa Scott for our Guatemala adventure.
