After Panama City, we flew to Guatemala City on our way to Flores, Guatemala (to see the ruins at Tikal). We met Cody's parents, Scott and Toni, there and had an ~10 hour layover in the city which gave us enough time to check out some of the main areas of Guatemala City. We picked up some Guatemala soccer jerseys, which we do in most of the cities we visit and headed to the plaza central. We had a good time taking in some of the sights and playing with the pigeons and seeing some of the old Spanish architecture. Overall, it was a nice afternoon in Guatemala City before we had to catch our evening flight to Flores to head to the Mayan ruins at Tikal.
