We arrived in Auckland just before noon. It was a long flight (over 11 hours), but at least we were comfortable in business class. Cody's brother, Kip, had planned for us to go to see the black sand beaches at Piha about 90 minutes from his house. We got to Piha with a few hours to spare before sunset and were able to play on the beach for a bit and take a small hike to one of the overlooks near the beach. We headed to Kip's house after it got dark to get ready for our flight to Queenstown, NZ in the morning.
